HAPPY LAST DAY OF 2018! This year was full of big goals and HUGE changes for me!
One of the biggest was to paint my entire place BRIGHT PINK. Living in a pink house has been my plan since I was a kid, but I started planning it properly a couple of years ago. It was A LOT of work and pricey, so I was finally in a place in my life where I could get it done.
I’m really happy with the way my place turned out and I’m so excited to show it off!! My favourite place is the living room. It’s soo bright (it looks like it GLOWS sometimes!), cheery, and just MAGICAL!
As soon as I walk inside and out of the cold (REALLY COLD these days it’s -40 degrees here tonight!), I get a warm cozy feeling!
Say hello to my new unicorn friend who really brings a bit more glittery magic to this space! I have spent the last couple of days making him out of paper mache – which I haven’t done since probably elementary school!
From start to finish, it look me 4 days to finish him because the paper mache and paint had to dry (and I had to remake the horn a few times because Sugar decided it was a fun toy!) But this project was incredibly fun, and fairly easy. I had a spare frame from IKEA, and added a string of fake flowers and voila! You can find the full instructions for making your own unicorn head here on Lil Blue Boo!
I loved paper mache. Definitely a new skill for me, and one I hope to use again soon! Maybe I’ll make him some friends?!?
I hope to show off some of my other favourite spaces in my cute pink house soon! xoxo
I never lose my childlike sense of wonder! I constantly have a MILLION ideas stuck in my brain just bursting to get out and it keeps me happy and motivated! I like to create my own worlds and scenarios in my head. I used to get in trouble all the time for looking daydreamy and completely out of it- but hey look at how good this is for my life now! I’m like to see myself as a girly Willy Wonka and am just waiting for someone to finance my very own chocolate factory!
I am also super duper flexible and can fit into small boxes, never forget birthdays, and can eat sushi NON-STOP (and I’m more than happy to prove it :D)!
I have finally recovered from yesterdays fun festivities!! I’m going to be eating leftover cake and ice cream (and I even have waffles left!) for WEEKS! I enjoyed myself immensely and have NO regrets!! Which is a nice way of moving on to today’s topic!!
I used to regret EVERYTHING. I’d live in the past constantly replay every single little thing I did, or didn’t do, or said and it would take up ALL OF MY TIME. But then I finally realized (though it was a LONG journey to get to this point)… you can’t go back and change days that have already happened!!
So I really try not to hold on to the past because it stops me from enjoying NOW! Though there are moments I wish I could change, I don’t dwell too long and use those as ways of learning to be a better person and to get on the right path! If I have a bad day, I just remember each day is BRAND NEW. 🙂
Yesterday I turned 29!! Which I can’t even really believe! When I was a kid, 29 seemed the most ridiculous age possible~ so far away and SO OLD AND MATURE. I DEFINITELY feel young at heart and happier than ever. I didn’t spend my actual birthday doing anything SUPER AWESOME because I had to work and then went to sleep very early.
BUT…. TODAY WAS VERY EXCITING! And full of sprinkles and rainbows and excitement!
I made some homemade ice cream very first thing this morning. Because it’s my birthday! So ice cream is a must! 😀
There are only two ingredients needed: heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk. With a handmixer, whip the heavy cream (half a litre / 16 ounces) until you get little peaks. Then add in a whole can of the sweetened condensed milk until the mixture thickens up.
Finally, add in your favourite flavours! I added in sprinkles into this batch, but other favourites are broken up peanut butter cups, chocolate chips, broken cookie bits, the possibilities are totally endless and yummy. Throw it in the freezer for a few hours until it’s fully frozen and THAT’S IT (I don’t even buy ice cream anymore because I can make infinite ice cream)!!!
Next up… I baked my colourful cake!! I ended up using a cake mix (which of course is far easier, but honestly just as tasty). I added 1 1/4 cups of water, 1/3 cup of avocado oil, and 3 eggs, mixed and tah-dah!
By this time, I was HUNGRY! So I saved a little bit of the cake batter and made Hello Kitty waffles!! I’ve had my Hello Kitty waffle maker for a while, but haven’t had a chance to actual use it yet. I added MORE sprinkles for more fun. Look how cute and colourful!!!
I’ve been very happily living the silly single lady life for a very loooong while. It’s just me and my cat and WHATEVER we want, WHENEVER we want. Which I actually really like for the most part!! But sometimes I wish that a cute boy would fall from the sky who I could share some of my excitement with… that perfect boy curiously hanging in the clouds would be:
An animal lover! What boy doesn’t like their feet warmed by fluffy cat and chicken pate kisses?!
Unabashedly silly and loooves my sense of silliness (it’s quite silly)!
Intelligent, and likes staying up to date with the news of the day!
Full of funny jokes and silly puns!
Doesn’t smoke or party (not my thing!)
UnIqUe and CREATIVE!!! Someone who is up for spontaneous rainbow painting sessions!
Likes video games and collecting things!
Adventurous and would be up for going on a long walk or bike ride through a forest somewhere. I have no sense of direction so it WOULD be an adventure!
Hopeless romantic! *_*
Kind and polite to ALL people
And…. adorable and tall with good teeth and thick curly perfect hair and a colourful snappy sense of style! Hey, I can dream!
Someone who would make my life MORE fun, but not change any of the happiness I currently have going on. 🙂
