Like everybody, 2020 has been one of the most challenging years of my life. We have had so much time to think, think some more, worry, feel, and learn about ourselves. I will admit that I have struggled a lot this year, but also experienced many great moments of joy and triumph. I thought I’d share some of the little happy bits from this year!
January: Knitted a lot, went thrifting a lot, and spent a lot of time outside of the house (a huge thing for me considering how anxious about leaving the house I usually am). It was a great, super refreshing new month to a new year.
February: Celebrated Sugar’s 2nd birthday, baked a cat cake, and threw a wild party with my family~ which would be the last get-together because of COVID to come…!
I also did my first big order of sugar cookies ~ a big batch of valentine’s conversation hearts.
March: Painted a striped wall in my living room
Then well, you know what happened! COVID hit and everything changed. Started working from home and Sugar became my suPURRvisor.
Wasn’t all that bad because it saved me a couple of hours on the bus each day and I got to catch up on a lot of tv at the same time. 😉
Animal Crossing New Horizons also came out in March which was the perfect distraction.
April: Learned to bake bread. And meringues. And cheesecake. And banana bread. And buns. There was a lot of baking going on!!
May: Things were a bit rough for me mentally because of work, so I started heading outside a lot more which was a lovely distraction!
June: Saw my parents and their dog Heidi for the first time since March! Heidi and Sugar admitted that they really missed each other as well (shh)!
July: Took some online classes which were a ton of fun, but a TON of work on top of working (way more than) full time. I met a ton of great people and learned a lot. But I was completely mentally and physically drained.
August: I took a math class (which was surprisingly… FUN) and then spent most of the time outside! There were a ton of deer around that I befriended.
September: Redecorated and finished painting and decorating my bedroom!
Got back into knitting and crafting again after a pretty draining summer!
And Autumn arrived!
October: Got ready for Thanksgiving, Halloween, did lots of relaxing, gaming, and knitting!
November: Spent a lot of time catching up on movies and tv (and avoiding the news…eek)!
December: Spent most of the month knitting gifts for Christmas, putting up the tree and decorations and of course more baking!!
And turned 31!!
And that was 2020 for me!! It was the craziest, somehow both the longest and shortest feeling year, with a lot of accomplishments.
Excited to make 2021 even better!
