It was-52 degrees (that’s in celsius!) with windchill this morning, so I was kind of dressed up like the Pillsbury Dough Boy in all my layers rather than my usual floofy fancy-free self!
So to add the FUN to my outfits even when it’s dreary, I’ve been making more handmade brooches! I had previously showed off my Pie Day pie, and rainbow, but I’ve been busy creating all sorts since!
I like matching these guys to my outfits or even those silly “internet” holidays that are constantly trending on Twitter (I like using this website as you can always tell what “holidays” you should be celebrating!) just to make myself and other people happy!
Yesterday I made a quick little sunshine friend to hopefully remind people to BE HAPPY!
Today is apparently National Pie Day! Of course it’s a silly holiday but I’m always ready to celebrate, because we all need a bit more FUN in life!
Pie Day calls for a special pie themed outfit for What I’m Wearing Wednesday, of course! Unfortunately I don’t have a pie dress (YET!), or an actual pie (that’s crusty!), but I have the next best thing: a homemade PIE PIN!
It’s a delicious piece of felt cherry pie! Don’t you just want to dig right in?!
I’m usually a pretty simple outfit wearer: just a dress, tights, and cardigan. So I really love a couple of thoughtful accessories – as tiny little details really bring your whole outfit together and allow you to be ANYTHING! So I threw on my pin and my day was a slice! 😀
I’ve been thinking of doing some weekly themed posts for some variety and to do something consistent here on the blog!! So welcome to the very first What I’m Wearing Wednesday!! I’m super ready to share some of the silly fun things I put on myself!
Like everybody, I’ve been eating SO MANY SWEETS lately… and have been enjoying every single one. But my tights are a little snug and my teeth probably won’t agree (rather terrified for the dentist next week – EEK!) so maybe it’s time to cut back a teeny tiny bit….
So instead I’ve exchanged my plates of cookies with dresses full of TREATS! This was my yummy outfit for work today where I dreamed of sugar plums perhaps a bit too much…:
Cardigan: Calvin Klein
Donut Scarf: Dollar Tree has them for Valentine’s Day 🙂
I do wish I could have got a full body shot without looking like a total dork (haha!), but I’m also wearing black Mary Janes, hot pink tights, and a donut necklace. I was on a sugar high all day today, so I’ll sleep well tonight!
(Can’t wait until the sun stays up a little bit longer so I can get a decent picture! I pretty much live in a cave without a lot of lighting so I need sunlight or I get fuzzy blur!)
I’m so excited to share this with you!! I LOVE MY CLOSET. It doesn’t even have a door because I love looking at it so much!
Because it’s completely stuffed to the brim with colour and pretty dresses! I started exclusively wearing dresses about three years ago (it just sort of… happened) and got rid of every remaining piece of black in my wardrobe last year and haven’t looked back!
I mostly wear vintage inspired dresses (with mostly florals, polkadots, and cute yummy prints!) with either long sleeves, or a cardigan on top. And always with colourful tights (I have bins full of them)! My style is strongly influenced by Japanese and kawaii styles, and I have a couple of Lolita dresses (a Japanese clothing style which in turn is inspired by Rococo/Victorian fashion – with ruffles and petticoats and intricate details!) and hope to acquire a few more soon!
Here are some of the outfits that I’ve thrown together (as I mentioned previously, I don’t take all that many selfies, but I’m working on it! Some of my outfits are really fun and I want to show them off)!
One of my 2019 goals is to start sewing my own dresses because sometimes it’s hard to find vintagey things that I really like and having the freedom to wear what I have in my head would be amazing!
My closet also has a ton of hairbows, wigs, scarves, petticoats, piles and piles of cute socks, my novelty bag collection, a shelf full of candy (hahaha! always need it close by!), a spot for all my jewellery, my Hello Kitty hamper, and all my empty boxes for collectables (lots of Sailor Moon proplica boxes and Funkos up there!) There’s pretty much no room at all for anything else (but I will try ;))!
