My house went fully PINK in 2017. Painting a house obscenely pink and HAPPY was something I wanted to do since I was a kid, and can confirm that it has been the best decision that I ever made!
I ended up picking a rather neon pink colour for my living room – which is Behr’s Gumball pink (even the name is DELICIOUS!) It’s gone through a couple of different versions over the past couple of years. But the best thing about paint is, it’s just PAINT! You can use it to colour and shape your world into whatever you want.
In the middle of the lockdown earlier this year, I ended up doing super fun striped accent wall!
Painting a striped wall is actually incredibly easy! Most of the time spent measuring and taping ~ the actual stripes took only a couple of minutes. But a striped wall is definitely a do-able weekend project (I managed to do it all by my little self in only a day)! Here’s a guide to walk you through.
I find myself enjoying my house more and more everyday~ especially important for being stuck inside for months straight!
Your house is an extension of YOU! Make it exactly the place your heart desires, and change it up constantly to make it more happy!
HAPPY LAST DAY OF 2018! This year was full of big goals and HUGE changes for me!
One of the biggest was to paint my entire place BRIGHT PINK. Living in a pink house has been my plan since I was a kid, but I started planning it properly a couple of years ago. It was A LOT of work and pricey, so I was finally in a place in my life where I could get it done.
I’m really happy with the way my place turned out and I’m so excited to show it off!! My favourite place is the living room. It’s soo bright (it looks like it GLOWS sometimes!), cheery, and just MAGICAL!
As soon as I walk inside and out of the cold (REALLY COLD these days it’s -40 degrees here tonight!), I get a warm cozy feeling!
Say hello to my new unicorn friend who really brings a bit more glittery magic to this space! I have spent the last couple of days making him out of paper mache – which I haven’t done since probably elementary school!
From start to finish, it look me 4 days to finish him because the paper mache and paint had to dry (and I had to remake the horn a few times because Sugar decided it was a fun toy!) But this project was incredibly fun, and fairly easy. I had a spare frame from IKEA, and added a string of fake flowers and voila! You can find the full instructions for making your own unicorn head here on Lil Blue Boo!
I loved paper mache. Definitely a new skill for me, and one I hope to use again soon! Maybe I’ll make him some friends?!?
I hope to show off some of my other favourite spaces in my cute pink house soon! xoxo
