Happy birthday to MEOW!

Today is Sugar the Cat’s FIRST birthday! When I adopted her last April, the shelter told me that she was the only girl born on February 11th, 2018. 😀 I celebrated her birthday this past Saturday by having a great big bash with all her friends.

Here is Sugar the day she came home – almost a year ago! Almost grown into those ears!
Party animal – doesn’t she look thrilled 😉
Party time! Even Hello Kitty made an appearance!

I decorated (guess how long that sweets garland lasted for? SIGH!), baked cupcakes, blew up balloons, and had a loong conversation with a cashier at the party store about my daughters first birthday plans (she IS my daughter – just a bit furrier than usual!)

Presents were found (much more fun wrapped!)

In case you’re curious too, she ended up getting an Ikea cat tube from my brother. Yes, it fit in that tiny little package!

She only had a tiny nibble of frosting – wasn’t really interested in PEOPLE food. Blegh!

Cake was SMASHED!

The cat’s IN the bag!

A great time was had by all! 🙂

It’s always a great time to throw a party! Whether it’s for your human friends or your pet friends.

My super funfetti 29th birthday!!

Yesterday I turned 29!! Which I can’t even really believe! When I was a kid, 29 seemed the most ridiculous age possible~ so far away and SO OLD AND MATURE. I DEFINITELY feel young at heart and happier than ever. I didn’t spend my actual birthday doing anything SUPER AWESOME because I had to work and then went to sleep very early.

BUT…. TODAY WAS VERY EXCITING! And full of sprinkles and rainbows and excitement!

I made some homemade ice cream very first thing this morning. Because it’s my birthday! So ice cream is a must! 😀

There are only two ingredients needed: heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk. With a handmixer, whip the heavy cream (half a litre / 16 ounces) until you get little peaks. Then add in a whole can of the sweetened condensed milk until the mixture thickens up.

Finally, add in your favourite flavours! I added in sprinkles into this batch, but other favourites are broken up peanut butter cups, chocolate chips, broken cookie bits, the possibilities are totally endless and yummy. Throw it in the freezer for a few hours until it’s fully frozen and THAT’S IT (I don’t even buy ice cream anymore because I can make infinite ice cream)!!!

Next up… I baked my colourful cake!! I ended up using a cake mix (which of course is far easier, but honestly just as tasty). I added 1 1/4 cups of water, 1/3 cup of avocado oil, and 3 eggs, mixed and tah-dah!

By this time, I was HUNGRY! So I saved a little bit of the cake batter and made Hello Kitty waffles!! I’ve had my Hello Kitty waffle maker for a while, but haven’t had a chance to actual use it yet. I added MORE sprinkles for more fun. Look how cute and colourful!!!

Now PARTY TIME!!! Anyone wanna come celebrate?!?!
