It’s been a while since I showed off Cupcake, my Animal Crossing New Horizons island. But I’ve been hard at work earning Bells and filling it to the brim with all sorts of sweet goodies!
So get your golden ticket out and lets get ready to enter the sugary candylicious world of Cupcake Island!!
I didn’t have any big plans or expectations of what my island would be other than sugary, fun, and happy! The island took on a life of it’s own and kind of turned into a scene out of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! There’s so much candy, colour, and well chaotic fun that I hope it makes Mr. Wonka proud! 😀
Let’s jump in! In the middle of the island is the big cupcake with all the shops and my house as the cherry on top!
Outside of the cupcake is all the fun islands (hard candy, ice cream, donuts, a creamsicle, lollipop, cookie and a sundae!) surrounded by colourful paths, chocolate mazes, fudge filled rivers including the “chocolate tube” (made of cliffs and waterfalls) from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where Augustus Gloop lived my dream of being sucked up a tube of flowing chocolate!
My house is still pretty small right now, because I’ve spent most of my money on ramps and sweets! XD But here’s what it’s like right now.
I’ve even packed up a couple of treats to send you off on your way!
Thanks for coming by! If you’d like a personal tour, comment below and I’d be thrilled to have you over!
Not quite sure what compelled me to do two big bakes today, but thanks to the silly sugar monster within me rising up here we are! Anyways, todays challenge was CAKE! That’s a bit of a vague prompt since there are so many interpretations of cake. I was thinking of some kind of big layered thing, but then realized that cake is hard to give away, and there is no room AT ALL to stuff that in my freezer! Then I came across SUGAR PLUM FAIRY CUPCAKES from Sally’s Baking Addiction and I had to make them (like I spent days daydreaming about them)!
The name on it’s own invokes whimsical sparkly holiday cheer, and they are just gorgeous little bundles of sweet frosting and spice.
I was almost dancing as I mixed up the cake batter which is so fragrant with cinnamon and nutmeg. They couldn’t bake fast enough to frost with pretty purple buttercream and candies and cookies galore.
This is by far my favourite recipe in a while, and I’m going to make it over and over again.
Outside my window is ridiculously, no good, oh so freezing, why do I live here – COLD!!! Everybody is daydreaming about getting away to a hot sandy beach far far away to escape the cold. Me, I’m not such a big fan of hot either – but a trip to a magical land of CANDY is much more my thing!
One of my favourite artists and a big sweet-toothed inspiration of mine is the installation artist PIP AND POP. Pip and Pop (also known as Australian artist Tanya Schultz) creates entire worlds filled with candy, sparkly rainbow sugar, and complete and utter HAPPINESS that transport you back to the carefree days of your childhood when your teeth just ACHED from FAR TOO MANY SWEETS and there was endless possibility!
You can’t help but wanting to build a little house on the foot of a towering glittering sugar sweet mountain! Let’s GO!
