My sweet furry child turned TWO years old on Tuesday! Sugar’s name and the fact that her birthday is so close to Valentine’s (February 11th) made a theme for the party super simple: SWEETS! And what’s more sweet than being two years old (get it? TWO sweet)?!
Decorations
Fortunately decorating an entertaining a two year old kitty is far simpler than two year olds of the people variety! But I still wanted a day of fun and love~
The tablecloth was from Dollarama and reminds me of the decor at a little sweets shop! I cut out the banner out of felt; all in pink except for the occasional donut and ice cream.
I also bought a ton of cheap valentine’s candy and decorated my place with them! All the guests were able to take home a loot bag full of even more sugary sweet treats!
The Food
- Pretty Pink Kitty Cake
- Cake Pops
- Valentine’s Rice Krispy Squares
- Conversation Heart Sugar Cookies

This little pink cake was made using the Wilton Ombre cake recipe! It’s just a very simple white cake recipe~ but oh so delicious! The insides were coloured in layered pink ombre cake.
The cake is covered in pink buttercream, piped on with a star tip. And the ears, eyes, and pink heart nose were made out of white melting chocolate which I carefully poured with a spoon! The whiskers were made in a similar way but with dark chocolate darkened further with violet food gel!
There was a fair bit of buttercream and cake left over from cutting off the crowns, so I used the remainder to make chocolate dipped cake pops! They always go over super well especially if somebody doesn’t want to say they had a whole slice of cake!
The cake is small (5″) but is incredibly sweet and it’s enough to fill up 6-8 people with a generous serving of pure goodness.

Sugar had a blast, and promptly fell asleep on the table shortly after trying to steal all the buttercream she could! 😀
Happy Birthday Sugar!! xoxo
