Today’s challenge is a day in my life! So I kept my camera with me all day to show you what I typically get up to. I absolutely LOVED this as it makes you realize how much you do actually accomplish and help you capture tiny moments you may otherwise not think about. So here we go!~
I wanted a blog name that was going to be fun, bright, not too serious, and that represented ME! The name really just hit me one night as I was trying to fall asleep thinking of cats and wanting to blog again (that would be a standard sort of night for me!)
The word Whimsy is my all-time favourite word which always gives me images magical fluffy colourful happiness that I feel represents my life. And Whiskers was because I was planning on adopting a cat, and it has always been my favourite kitty related word. Even better yet, I’m particularly partial to alliteration and the initials are WAW (like wow! Super fun!)
2020 has been great so far! Although it seems I accidentally fell asleep at 7 and missed the fireworks! Oops! What a start!
I had the day off of work today, so I took down the Christmas tree to get a new start, cleaned the house, and then spent most of the day crafting! I even got a run in! I feel so accomplished this year already!
There are a lot of goals I have for this year: be ridiculously colourful, fight my anxiety, less tv/computer, and be positive! But my biggest resolution again is to just simply BE CREATIVE!
I finished up a knitted sweater for Sugar that I had started a couple of weeks ago. I used a simple pet sweater pattern which is made for tiny puppies that I made a bit bigger to fit an 8 pound cat (you can find the pattern here!). But so far Sugar is NOT a fan and I can’t get her to model it! So you’re going to have to do with a pic of a unicorn in a sweater instead!
A while back I picked up an amazing book called Craft-a-Day: 365 Simple Handmade Projects by Sarah Goldschadt that I’m planning to make use of this year as well. I LOVE this book so far as it’s exactly what it says on the tin – a quick craft (jewellery, home decor, cute toys, etc) for every day of the year. Each week is broken up into a theme, for example this week is Snowflakes! It’ll be great if I hit an inspiration slump again and it’ll hopefully spur on some more projects! I’m going to do my best to work cover to cover. Today’s project was making this really cute Snowflake Barette that I’m going to wear to work tomorrow:
So much I still want to do today! Trying to squeeze in some more fun before back to work tomorrow, as I feel really reinvigorated! Lots of love and wishes to you all this year!!
