October Blogging Challenge! Day 11: Things That Inspire Me!

The topic for today is things that inspire me! There are so many things in the universe that fill me with enthusiasm and motivation and my mind is a *constant* kaleidoscope thinking of them all~ My teachers used to tell my parents that I was way too detached and spent too much time in my head daydreaming, almost like in another world! And they weren’t wrong! I feel drawn to fantastical worlds and feel like I’m in the process of creating one of my own~ which was the point of this blog!

I love bright rainbows, glitter, pink houses, fantasy video games, walking through plush green forests, big poofy frilly dresses, kawaii, kitschy collectables, Lolita fashion, pompoms and beads and buttons, yarn, big-eyed Blythe dolls, 80s and 90s toys, nostalgia, sugary sweets (especially that too many sweets hyper feeling!), history, animals, and bouncy positivity!

I adore the art of Pip and Pop! I feel like I could build a house right at the edge of one of their sugary mountains!
And this would be the house! This very picture was actually the inspiration when I painted my house pink! I have always dreamed about the person/people who lived here and hoped it was a single lady with a cat for a companion who baked cookies and brightened the day of everyone she met. So instead of wondering, I decided to become her! 🙂
I love going to the carnival! Not necessarily the rides… but just walking around and enjoying the whole mood with the music and games and happy people just escaping from real life!
Sweets make your stomach and brain happy so I always make sure to enjoy plenty!
And I love creating the day away!

Life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, but it can be most of the time! 🙂 I use my Pinterest here to inspire me when times get tough as it reminds me who I really am so check it out if you want a dose of bright sugary kitschy cuteness!

Monday MOTIVATION! Travel to the colourful candy coated worlds of PIP AND POP!

Outside my window is ridiculously, no good, oh so freezing, why do I live here – COLD!!! Everybody is daydreaming about getting away to a hot sandy beach far far away to escape the cold. Me, I’m not such a big fan of hot either – but a trip to a magical land of CANDY is much more my thing!

One of my favourite artists and a big sweet-toothed inspiration of mine is the installation artist PIP AND POP. Pip and Pop (also known as Australian artist Tanya Schultz) creates entire worlds filled with candy, sparkly rainbow sugar, and complete and utter HAPPINESS that transport you back to the carefree days of your childhood when your teeth just ACHED from FAR TOO MANY SWEETS and there was endless possibility!

You can’t help but wanting to build a little house on the foot of a towering glittering sugar sweet mountain! Let’s GO!

You can explore and drool over her worlds here on Instagram or Facebook!
