I try my best to keep my blog and my life as upbeat and sunshiney as possible even when it’s really tough! That said, this week has been a CHALLENGING one and put my life view to the test!
We’re all at month SEVEN of the pandemic and I think it is really taking a toll on all of us lately. For me, I miss my family so much (even though they pop every couple of weeks when they pop in for groceries), work is difficult and people seem to be at each other’s throats, the news of the world is hard to watch, and I just miss having that freedom to do little things on a whim. I’ve broken down a couple of times this week ~ but then come back to reality…
I AM very fortunate (and I know others sadly aren’t in the same place).This IS temporary. We WILL be okay in the end!!
But painful weeks like this have made me truly think about all the things I am truly THANKFUL for and what brings me back to my happy place! I find it important to list out the things that brighten up my day and it doesn’t take long before it is LONG!

Rainbows ~ they always seem to jump out at the most necessary time!
Internet friends!! <3 No matter what, they ALWAYS brighten up my day.
Creating! Shutting out the real world and being transported into a magical world of my own creative mind and seeing what comes out in yarn, felt, drawn form!

Oh 2020! You have been a wild ride so far!! I’ve been working from home since March and have really only left my house a couple of times, so there has been a LOT of time for learning and reflection. There have certainly been tough moments, but many bright happy times as well! A big goal has been to try and make every single day a special day and enjoy every moment as it comes.
Talk to family as much as possible!
Enjoy the sweets you are craving. YES, you do deserve it!
Take a few minutes each day to watch the clouds go by
Cover EVERYTHING in rainbows!
Movie marathons turn a dark day into a fantastical journey somewhere else
Turn off your phone and snuggle up with a big blanket and toasty warm hot chocolate!
Ice cream IS an acceptable dinner choice (occasionally :))
Make a mess! Cover the house in paint and yarn and glitter. Clean it up some other day 😀
Give your pets an extra kiss!
Write down a list of things that make you feel bubbly and happy (and look at it when you’re not)!
There are so many reasons to be appreciative this year! It’s been tough, but we’ll pull through and be brighter for it!
HAPPY LAST DAY OF 2019! And last day of the DECADE to boot!
Wow has so much changed for me in the past year ~ in great ways! I started the year so excited to create a bright happy life for myself, and am ending it even more positive about everything! The middle was stuffed with great stuff too. Here’s some of what I accomplished!
And so much more! Hard to believe it has been 365 days! I really just want 2020 to be very similar – just happy, colourful, and creative! I think we can do it!

I find the time after Christmas to be a bit sad of the energy and bright coziness of the season is gone… so like the HAPPY post on Christmas, this seems like quite an appropriate topic. But I’m trying to stay POSITIVE and make this the best day EVER!!
Before we get to the HAPPY again, a couple of my not favourite things… People hurting other people and animals, when other people are sad, jealousy and comparing myself to others, worrying about what other people think about me, not doing things when my anxiety gets a hold of me, and giving up on my goals.
I’ve been busy crafting to get over some of the blue feelings that are creeping in my brain! I love doing something that lets you COMPLETELY leave the real world behind…
Getting over some of the things that make me sad and anxious is going to be a big part of the next year. So instead I’m going to turn to the happy things in life… and just BE ME!
STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES! I go for a long walk every single day and pretty much walk everywhere I need to go! I started many years back just to get out and DO SOMETHING that wasn’t staring at a screen. But it was not only good exercise, it was sooo good for the mind. I love just looking at how pretty nature is and letting my imagination go wild!
BE POSITIVE!!! Sometimes harder said than done, but I try not to let things get me down! When in doubt, I seek out funny things and laugh and try to spread the happy to everyone I can find. Or just seek out some rainbows! Positive thought works and positivity is really CONTAGIOUS!
DON’T LOOK BACK!! The past is the past, you can only move forward!! Don’t dwell on things you did or didn’t do yesterday. You can only focus on how good tomorrow is going to be. 🙂
