I started this post as one of my Sunday Snaps type posts! But then the day (and week) got away from me! I’ve been working on planning my cat Sugar’s first birthday party (let’s just say it’s going to be SWEET!), then I had to pop to the dentist yesterday to have a cavity filled – all that candy finally caught up with me!! Naturally it was one of the most difficult cavities they’ve seen in a while so I was there most of the afternoon… SIGH! 😀
So with all that, I forgot to update this blog and my other social media (I’m still alive friends)! Anyways, I spent most of the weekend stuck inside during yet ANOTHER snow storm finishing this guy:
He’s cute, colourful, and ready to drive winter FAR FAR AWAY! It’s been a while since I’ve worked on an actual knitting project, and I zipped right through it in about a day and then managed to screw up the BIND OFF of all things (usually my favourite part!) Yarn it all! So I had to frog it back a few rows.
I used Lion Brand Hometown USA yarn, which I loved working with. This was a VERY simple garter stitch pattern (knit stitch all the way through), done horizontally:
- CO 80 (or more, depending on how long you want your scarf)
- K in your first colour for the entire row, and repeat for 4 rows.
- Switch up your colour and repeat rows until done, and bind off. Total is 24 rows across (4×6)
I didn’t have any white yarn to do the clouds, so I sewed up cloud plushies instead and hot glued the cute little eyes, checks, and mouth!
Now I’m ready for some brighter days! xoxo
