Pink house tour! My sweet dreamy bedroom!

Nothing like Springy weather to really motivate you to CLEAN the cave you’ve been stuck in all winter! I spent last weekend pushing furniture and cleaning up the condo and for the first time I really feel like the vision of my place is coming true!

I moved my computer out of my bedroom and into the living room, and with all that extra room I finally got a… bed!

Say WHAT?! I’ve been sleeping on a futon for the past SIX years (it seemed like an awesome thing to do in my early twenties!) My first night in a bed was surprisingly comfier than being stuffed into the edge of a lumpy futon! I even FINALLY got the canopy I’ve had for ages up and it looks majestic in here! Anyways, without further adieu, please take a look at my oh so organized pretty in pink bedroom!

All this bed space to spread out is Sugar approved!
Super happy to finally have room to spread out some of the collectables!
Gotta say this is my favourite corner! Got everything I need within arms reach!

Once you grow up, you can never go back (or why I collect toys as an adult!)

If you’ve read through any of my posts or pictures, you may have noticed that I have a rather large collection of toys! In fact, my entire house is like falling down a rabbit hole into a world of dizzyingly bright nostalgia and squeeful kawaii happiness! I’m also an adult with a job, mortgage, and child to take care of (okay she has four legs, is covered in fur, and has a MEAN tuna addiction! ^_^)

Don’t worry – I know you probably have questions! I’ve heard ALL the ‘why don’t you grow up already?!’, ‘what’s wrong with you?’, ‘is this a weird AHEM… fetish thing?’ comments. The answers: I’m a proper tax paying awesome adult, absolutely nothing is wrong about things people enjoy, and nope it’s not (if it’s your fetish and it’s legal do your thing – but it’s not for me).

People have many reasons for collecting (and they’re all great!) For me, I collect toys because I really love reliving those feelings of the happy days of my carefree whimsy-filled childhood in the 1990s, enjoy the thrill finding THAT special thing in a shop, getting to buy all the stuff I circled in toy catalogues but couldn’t have as a kid, and then have fun displaying them in my home as they’re a piece of who I am! There’s also maybe a little bit of hope that they’ll be worth a FORTUNE one day! 😀

You’re never too old for doing what you love, but you ARE really crotchety if you’re truly bothered by something that makes others happy.

Here’s some of the stuff I get to come home and enjoy everyday!

Oh! I also have an Instagram dedicated to my toys and toy thrifting adventures that you can follow!

Day 27 of the 30 day blog challenge!

Day 27 – What’s In Your Closet

I’m so excited to share this with you!! I LOVE MY CLOSET. It doesn’t even have a door because I love looking at it so much!

A closet FULL of rainbows! I need more room!

Because it’s completely stuffed to the brim with colour and pretty dresses! I started exclusively wearing dresses about three years ago (it just sort of… happened) and got rid of every remaining piece of black in my wardrobe last year and haven’t looked back!

I mostly wear vintage inspired dresses (with mostly florals, polkadots, and cute yummy prints!) with either long sleeves, or a cardigan on top. And always with colourful tights (I have bins full of them)! My style is strongly influenced by Japanese and kawaii styles, and I have a couple of Lolita dresses (a Japanese clothing style which in turn is inspired by Rococo/Victorian fashion – with ruffles and petticoats and intricate details!) and hope to acquire a few more soon!

Here are some of the outfits that I’ve thrown together (as I mentioned previously, I don’t take all that many selfies, but I’m working on it! Some of my outfits are really fun and I want to show them off)!

One of my 2019 goals is to start sewing my own dresses because sometimes it’s hard to find vintagey things that I really like and having the freedom to wear what I have in my head would be amazing!

My closet also has a ton of hairbows, wigs, scarves, petticoats, piles and piles of cute socks, my novelty bag collection, a shelf full of candy (hahaha! always need it close by!), a spot for all my jewellery, my Hello Kitty hamper, and all my empty boxes for collectables (lots of Sailor Moon proplica boxes and Funkos up there!) There’s pretty much no room at all for anything else (but I will try ;))!
