Sunday Snaps: Fully Vaccinated Edition!

From brand new bikes and months, to vaccines and ice cream, this has been a whirlwind of a week!!

Kawaii face mask, bowl of ice cream, and a I'm COVID-19 Vaccinated sticker!

I found myself taking lots of pictures and thought it would be a good time to bring back Sunday Snaps on this blog as it’s just a fun way of capturing little moments in my life that Instagram doesn’t always cover. When I started this blog it was with the full intent of sharing fun “week in the life” posts frequently, and I haven’t been overly consistent I’ll admit ~ but it’s time to bring some happy fun times back!

Can you believe it’s JULY? Half of this year has zipped by!

Work was b-u-s-y BUSY!!! I’m still working from home so I didn’t really have much of a chance to get up from my desk at all as it was end of quarter in the corporate world. Genuinely felt like Aggretsuko most of the time. Perhaps I should take up heavy metal ;).

Aggretsuko by Sanrio!

Accomplished a lot so I did end up splurging on myself and bought a BIKE! This is Amelia Pedalia the Cruiser and I’m in love!

I spent ALL DAY Thursday, which was a day off here in Canada, putting her together. Hopefully some fun cruises down the street will help me calm down a bit on the stressful days.

I was able to squeeze in some very early morning exercise and met up with my good pal – Licorice von Boots the Cat! He happily accepted some scratches.

And spotted this little sweetie in the forest! Mama was watching me closely and I kept my distance of course. Little baby was curious.

Today I got my second dose of COVID vaccine (Moderna).

I haven’t really been out at all during the pandemic, so I don’t usually get to get to put together outfits as much anymore so dressing up a bit was FUN!

Had a craving for ice cream before I left, so I threw on an ice cream brooch and my absolutely adorable Loungefly Pokemon Ice Cream bag! A couple of people complimented how cheery I looked so I thought that was fun!

I got it from EBGames (Gamespot in the US)!

I didn’t have any side effects with the first dose of the vaccine, so fingers crossed for the same thing this time. Feeling great so far!

I’m looking forward to many more adventures in a couple of weeks when I can safely get out.

Until next time, Erika! xoxo

And we’re back!!!

My blog is BACK! And so I am! I’m so happy I could cry right now!

This summer was a bit rough, the mix of work and school and mid-life career crisis was A LOT and there were a lot of tears of not-so-happiness… I got frustrated and actually deleted my blog completely (I’ll talk more on this later!) The blog-break made me realize what I really love doing, and that is THIS!

Fortunately I kept the site backup and spent today importing the content and images.

Think everything is good to go – but please let me know if there are any issues that you come across! Now lets go again and fill the world with rainbows and kitties and cuteness!

xoxo Erika

Back to School!

Perhaps working from home has given me far too much time to think, but I’ve decided to use some of my free evening time to go back to university (again)! I graduated with my BA in History way back in 2012, and have taken some odd classes just for funsies over the years. This time around, I’m taking a course in Cross Cultural Awareness, Working with Challenging Behaviours, and GASP MATH!

I think this COVID time is one of those times where you have to reevaluate what makes you the most happy in life. While I like my job a lot, 10-12 hour days sitting at a desk is far from what I thought I’d be doing. Depending on how things go, I might go back for more classes in the fall and see where it takes me!

Either way, it was fun buying cute notebooks and pens, and less so for the piles of homework, but what can you do! Learning anything just because is a blast.

I’ve been stuck inside the house and have no plans on leaving, but I’ve enjoyed packing myself a cute school bag for moving my stuff all the way across the room to study!

The Pink Heart Ita bag itself is from Amazon
The 2020-2021 Crazy Pink Cat Lady Academic Planner is also from Amazon 🙂

Day 9 of the 30 day blog challenge!

Day 9 – What’s In Your Bag?!?

This has always been one of my favourite things to learn about people… What’s in your bag used to be a huge feature on personal webpages back in the 90s/early 2000s, and probably what got me fully obsessed with the internet in the first place. I just think it’s really an interesting personal look at what people behind the screen are really like!

I really looove novelty handbags (especially delicious looking ones)! I have so many, even though I tend to stick with the exact same one for months at a time. They’re fun for coordinating outfits and scream FUN!

Here’s just a couple that I dug out from the back of my closet!

But right now, this is the bag that I’m using for work:

It’s not quite as fun on the outside (but it is VERY pink as strangers tell me all the time!).  At least the insides are full of excitement:

  1. Hello Kitty wallet and phone case (who else?!)
  2. My little donut pouch holds bobby pins and other doo-dads
  3. Lipchap, lipchap, and an extra lipchap! I’m addicted
  4. Hair bows, clips, and hair ties
  5. My work ID and sparkly pink lanyard (yes, I’m the buildings pink girl)
  6. Candy, candy, candy. These are some yummy Japanese sweets I got from my absolute favourite shop.
  7. The bottom of the bag (fortunately I didn’t dump it out!) is a ton of loose change, more bobby pins, hair ties, and who else knows what!
